I feel like I'm beginning this exciting new chapter in my life. The kids will be in college soon and I will have time to do just about anything. I love working and I don't see myself retiring anytime soon - but I believe very strongly in having a lot of fun. I like to challenge myself, both mentally and physically and want to feel like I'm increasingly growing and improving. I live my life as the glass being half full. No situation or person is all good or all bad. I never ignore the bad, ever, but I choose to focus mainly on the positive. When I love someone, I love them for all that they are - the good and the not so good.
I live a very active life, but also love downtime and just relaxing quietly at home (such as making a big Sunday breakfast, with music, and eating it in bed with the NY Times). I feel very strongly about being in good physical shape, exercising regularly and enjoying the outdoors. I'm an early riser (sometimes very early) and love being outdoors first thing. I enjoy exploring new sports (joined a rowing/sculling club - hope to be competing in Hawaii soon!) and interests (took flying lessons a few years ago). I love doing things I've never done before - I can't bear to be "stuck in a rut". This simply does not happen with me. The older I get, the more curious I'm becoming and I feel very fortunate to be in a position where I can do just about anything I want.
My closest friends describe me as intelligent and kind. I have been complimented on my compassion for others, my loyalty, dependability and generosity.
I am grateful for my two beautiful daughters and how successful they are in all areas of their lives. I am in awe of their intelligence, spirit and kindness. They are my greatest pride and joy.
I am also grateful for my excellent health. I take my health very seriously, eating well and exercising nearly on a daily basis. I feel stronger today than ever before.
