Many people in those countries do not have much but they are happy. The families are very strong. Compare this to the USA where we may complain when the price of gas goes up a few cents. It was quite a reality check for me....
Had good luck quitting smoking for longggg periods (9 years once) and tossed them again today, although I won't change my profile until I know I'm done.
I am not looking real hard for someone and I figure if it's meant to be it'll happen. As do most people I had some baggage but filed it away as it doesn't help anything dwelling on the past, and hopefully we all learn from it. I learned a lot but some of it too late, but life goes on. The woman I meet will have the side of me that has always been below the surface. Like many men (I think) the show of love and affection is not easy. Date men and women from United States. Long story short, I'm a Minnesota Norwegian country boy who somehow ended up living almost all of his adult life in large cities. I recently escaped from the last one, Los Angeles, to Eureka, CA. (And, yes, I'm determined that L.A. will be the last large city I'll live in.) I've only been here about nine months, but do have a job (somewhat to my surprise).
These days, I'm enjoying live music, especially in small, casual venues. I like to dance. My taste in both music and dance is eclectic. I like to eat at good restaurants - when my sons were up visiting recently, I told them I would have to start dating if only to have someone to eat out with.
I have no hard profile of what I'm looking for. Like most people, I've had in my life some preferences in body type, personality, etc for partners, but I find my preferences are becoming less definite or exclusive as I age. I'm a firm believer in "it ain't what you got, it's how you carry it" - and the attractiveness of a face is mostly about how one inhabits it.
Or I could say, on a more practical level, as a friend of mine did, when asked what kind of women he liked, "At my age, I like the ones that like me." I believe that, when two people meet, there is an intuitive recognition of like or dislike (or disinterest) - not always immediately, but usually fairly soon. If there's no antipathy, there might be a spark, or a glow, or lightning. Any of the last three would be fine with me - or just someone to dine and dance with would be fine too.
