Date someone special from Occidental, United States. Let me begin with the basics, my name is Chris and I am 23 years old. Last year I graduated from UCSB with degrees in Religious Studies and Anthropology. I would like to eventually become a college professor, and help mold the young minds of the next generation. Right now I am working two part time jobs; I am trying to save up some money before tackling my bucket list and applying to graduate school.
Education is very important to me. It was one of the highest ideals instilled in both my brother and I when we were young children. I don’t expect everyone to go to college, that is unrealistic, but I do try to encourage a good education, no matter the level. Speaking of my brother, he is my best friend and sometimes my greatest nemesis. I am very proud of his accomplishments, and I highly value his opinion; I am like that with all of my family really. I think it is sufficient to say that family is very important to me. My friends are another very important aspect in my life, in fact I consider them my second family.
I am a modest guy. I don’t like being praised in public all that much, it makes me feel uncomfortable and awkward. I know my strengths: compassion, generosity, and a roll-with-the-punches attitude, to name a few. I am coming to a cross-roads in my life, where it is time to step up my game, as it were. I am looking for a woman who is comfortable being herself. I have plans that I will/need to accomplish in my life, and I am looking for a woman who can be supportive without sacrificing her dreams and goals to do so.
A little more about myself (sheesh, this is uncomfortable to write), I am an avid reader and television watcher. I love all things Science Fiction and Fantasy. I love learning vast amounts of random facts. I like video games, but generally don’t play all that often. I am considered by many of my friends and acquaintances to be a good masseuse, and half-way decent cook. Both of which I really enjoy doing. I love animals of all kinds, and going to the beach. I don’t really enjoy watching sports all that much, but my time at UCSB has made me more appreciative of watching “the game”. I can very much be a home body; If I don’t have to leave the house I won’t. Do not be alarmed however, I am also very much into spontaneous adventures. I live in the forest, so sometimes boredom takes hold of me and I must go and do something. I tend to be slightly silly all the time, I like to make people laugh. I like to work out, both in the gym and at home, when I find the drive to do so. I like to do fun things, go kayaking, hiking/walking with my friends, driving around town, going to bad movies, going to great movies at the midnight premier, I like to go clubbing/dancing (though I am not that good a dancer), and I darts and billiards, swimming and skim-boarding, I am an amateur aquarist and, in general, a nice guy.
If any of this interests you, email me.
All the best,
Chris
Meet people from United States. I'm a down to earth guy with a fun/wacky sense of humor. I like to have great adventures when I'm not hard at work! I think my friends would describe me as kind, loving, and generous. I love laughing in good conversation and like to talk about a lot of different topics. I have a lot of goals and ambitions, and I steadily take small steps to get where I'm headed. I'm introspective and always finding ways to be a better person. I'm passionate about environmental and social justice.
I'm looking for someone who is already happy, but single, like me. A healthy sense of humor is very attractive to me. It's important that my potential-future-partner has awareness of her feelings and is able to communicate them honestly, even when it's scary. Everyone has been through something difficult, so my hope is you've made it to this side with optimism intact! I enjoy intelligence in a partner, but I don't think it's as important as kindness.

Meet a man from Occidental, United States. I'm a computer consultant who enjoys classical music (a lot), jazz, gardening, good food and conversation, sailing, going for walks, and corny old movies (from the 30's and 40's). I especially enjoy the world of ideas (anthropology, psychology, history, philosophy, etc.). While it might be nice to share that with a woman, I sure could use a good distraction from it now and then. There's a lot of playfulness (and passion) in me, but it doesn't come out very well unless I'm pretty comfortable with my playmate. Some women have found me humorous, entertaining, and downright fun, others have found me rigid and dull. Go figure.
I am somewhat strong-willed and intense, but also patient, kind, and sincere, and I really work hard to arrive at compromises that are mutually comfortable and fair. I'm moderately conservative politically and generally a bit old-fashioned--but there are pretty major exceptions to both of those generalizations. I do respect and value mostly traditional feminine qualities in a woman. I like women and need a close relationship with a woman to be fulfilled in my life. I hope to find a woman who likes men and is comfortable needing a man in her life. I am quite capable of participating in a deeply intimate, trusting, honest, and loving relationship, especially with a woman who wants and is capable of the same. I believe it's important that both people in a romantic relationship feel "in love" and feel comfortable being who they really are. I crave a relationship with a woman that is more honestly intimate than any I have experienced so far or have known others to experience--each of us with a sincere interest in the other's life and happiness.
I live in western Sonoma County and love the country. I dearly love animals, but in their natural environment, not captive indoors where I live. If you want a (non-human) pet, we probably couldn't look forward to a life together. Also, the recession has been very hard on my finances; I'm afraid I can't provide that financial security we'd all like. The only wealth I can offer will have to come from my heart or my mind, not my pocket book. Also, since I'm an IT consultant (my business is Vista Consulting in Santa Rosa, which you could look up), I spend all day staring blurry-eyed at this screen. So if my emails are short and I try to move on to communicating by phone quickly, I hope you'll understand. I also direct a vocal ensemble called Mostly Motets (which you could also look up, if you liked) that sings music from the Renaissance and Middle Ages.
Date single man from Occidental, United States. I have been married several times with a grown daughter and a 11 year old daughter. I was the eldest of 7 with 6 sisters. I like women but have never been in a relationship for more then 7 years. I have been lucky in that I am friends with most of my partners. I stay healthy and active and tend to be an advocate for parks and outdoor recreation. My favorite being riding my 9 year old gelding with my 11 year old daughter. I delivered the gelding and his full sister from the mare that I rode for years. Trail riding with my rodesian ridgeback was a great pleasure, but the park now says no dogs. Well 5 years riding has kept her healthy.
I would like a friend and lover to share the joys of life.
Meet men and women from Occidental, United States. I am a kind and thoughtful person in search of a female companion. My interests are wide ranging.
How nice it would be to find someone to share lifes beauty and daily challenges with. I, of course, wish that the "describe yourself" section of this profile was not limited by the 200 charater minimum.
Date someone special from Occidental, United States. I am very fortunate to be able to support myself as an artist and to have discovered my ability in ceramics and bonsai. The freedom to be creative and self-directed is wonderful.
I have great concern for the future of the natural systems on our planet, but I am only superficially involved in making changes for the better.
I am seeking an intelligent and articulate woman with a great sense of humor and real passion for her interests.
Meet people from Occidental, United States. My life is full of life, love, laughter, family, health and nurture. After 18 years in Santa Monica, California, I moved to the lush beautiful Northern California in the country, where I maintain an active health practice among the redwoods and slight breeze on afternoons when I can read a book outside and enjoy a nice glass of wine or tea, dependingon my mood. I consider myself lucky and blessed to have had so many rich life experiences, a life filled with international travel and cultures, a wonderful son who lives in a big city, friends that frequently visit or invite me to their homes in other states. What's missing? A life partner for the future. My ideal man (heck, even a couple of great dates might inspire me) is an unquestionable giver, secure, smart, funny and not threatened by being with a smart, sexy, secure woman who only wants joy, happiness and peace. A bit cliche, I am sure, but don't we all deserve a little fairytale?
My interests include reading, horseback riding, painting (I have my own art studio) impressionist landscapes, yoga, hiking, animals, live music (rock and roll), and I am open to learning new ones as well. I have a sense of adventure and a spirit of fun that is backdropped with my self which is soft and balanced and full of nurture.
I am a petite girl with a lot of spunk and life, with no complaints (to date!) over my body or, ummm. interests. Feels good saying that at my age Although let's be clear, I am not looking for the "booty call," just an awesome sweet fun man to hold my hand, share intellectual interests, banter in a light and funny way, travel the world or even just down the street to breakfast or a farmer's market, and to basically share time and space with.
Let's see what happens.....
M.
Date a soulmate from Occidental, United States. I am a recovering workaholic who finds pleasure in all things beautiful. I enjoy a great meal, jazz and conversation. Take me to the Commonwealth Club - walk the beaches of the Sonoma Coast - share in a home cooked meal. Life is truly what you make it.
Meet someone special from United States. I am good, true, and have an inner beauty. My path is to live from an open heart, and cherish the tender moments that touch me deeply. I care about others. I love setting people at ease and making them feel comfortable around me. I can also be very flexible. I get unfixed quickly. I know myself well, have my own ideas and points of view, but I can also let go and see through other people's eyes. I realize that there are many ways to approach something. When faced with a difficult situation, I find my center fast. You can count on me. I follow through with what I say I'll do. I am both courageous and vulnerable. I have learned from the challenges as well as the joys of life.
My style is creative.....I cultivate an ongoing appreciation for the wonder around me. I am inspired by nature and the adventures that arise from those connections. I enjoy rhythms: the quiet ones of walking in the woods, and the soulful ones of moving across a dance floor. I love feeling the wind against my skin and the earth on my hands when I am gardening.
I can be fun and feisty and I can be deeply spiritual and sensual. I consider myself to be a seeker. I explore both inner and outer dimensions to expand my awareness. These explorations are exciting to me as I delve into new cultures. I appreciate novel ways of thinking and doing that widen the edges of my imagination and experience.
I value kindness, humor, integrity, and generosity of spirit. Engaging conversation with laughter relaxes me.
I respect a man who can be himself, and courageously communicates. I admire his ability to court adventure, and travel the terrains of both his heart and the world he lives in. I am attracted to a man who is energized by life. He can share intimately what has truth and meaning for him. He clearly demonstrates this in honorable action. He is present and aware, and expresses his love openly. He is in his body, loves his body, and takes good care of his body. He is social, relaxed, and open to sharing activities with mutual friends. We would be open to each others' friends and worlds. He would be my sweetheart, my best friend, my partner in play, and the love of my life.
Date people from United States. I recently turned 70. My friends urge me not to disclose my age, but I figure there are youngish men who like vital, wise women who are older than they - there are oldish men who like youthful and spirited women who are slightly younger - and there are men in their early 70's who like women their own age. The rest, I don't worry about. I once had a client who was dating a man 25 years her junior. When asked how she felt about it, she said, "When you think of the eons and eons of years there's been life on this planet, the fact that we're here at the same time is a miracle - so what the F. . . difference does age make? " I had to admit she had a point. Big-hearted and caring - independent at the same time intimate - open and curious - adventurous yet able to be still - mindful and present - are what count and which are some of the qualities I hope to find in a potential partner.
I'm currently working on a novel that I've been working on for over five years. I also work with people in a coaching capacity helping them to be less scattered and more present in their lives. I was a psychotherapist for over 20 years and a writer for over 15. I have 50 years experience in the arts (theater, photography, film, writing) and 55 years in various spiritual practices. I approach life creatively and spiritually. Being a good and kind person is my highest concern - an ongoing practice. I have two grown sons whom I love very much and two grand-twins whom I adore. I'm transitioning from Berkeley to Occidental and spend most of my time in a one-room cabin with an outdoor shower and wood stove. I am continually trying to simplify (but not always succeeding).
More and more I am drawn to silence and expanse. Nature provides both. I'm less about doing than being and would like to find someone who, along with the qualities I mentioned above, shares that perspective. Sharing is very important to me - at the same time I'm independent and happy alone. Again, I hope to find someone who wants both. Andre Gide once said, "The best prescription for a good life is Joy " and more and more I experience a quiet and rich kind of joy.
