My name is Cesar, I am originally from Spain, but a long time resident in Southern California. I really enjoy going out to great restaurants (they can be a hole in the wall or the fanciest around), and by the same token, I love to cook wonderful dinners. I am a fairly decent cook and I specially enjoy cooking for someone, and with someone. For those days that one does not feel like going out and are a little lazy to cook, well, there is always take-out! I consider myself a people pleaser, but not everyone, just those close to me. There are givers and there are takers, I am definitively a giver, of course, I like to receive too sometimes…. Sharing what I have and I what I do has always given me great pleasure, so what better way to keep feeling good that to continue doing it? Risoterapia (translated to English would be something like laughotherapy) is something I need on a regular basis, not just enjoy, but physically need. A lot of people say they try to find the positive on every situation..... well, as much as it might sound a cliche, I do. I have had ups and downs in my life, like everyone else, but overall, even those down moments were learning opportunities which I am glad for. Everything happens for a reason, and even though most of the times we do not know the reason, I like to believe that there are no coincidences, and somehow pieces are falling in its place. I love to read, although I do not do it as much as I would like (it is in the list of things I need to change a little). I devour cookbooks left and right, and recently I have beginning to read in Spanish a little, so many years without reading much Spanish is beginning to affect my written Spanish and that I do not like. I cannot live without my music (I am spotifying as we speak), and looove going to a good concert. I like board games, and playing cards-as many many spaniards do--I will share you a few stories about old people playing cards in the little villages of rural Spain (where I can from). I am fairly competitive, and will never let someone win just because, but I can accept defeat without a problem. I have to thank my father that taught me to accept a loss in any competition, as long as I learned from my mistakes. We played chess every day from the time I was about ten until I was thirteen, only one game a day. For all that time except the last six months or so, I never won, and that teaches you a lot--not that I enjoying loosing, but it was ok, as long as I was learning. Towards the end of that period, I started to tie once on a while, then more and more often, until one day.... I won. OMG!!! One of the happiest days of my childhood, no doubt. To celebrate my dad took me to a local restaurant for a meal (I choose junk food—my second burger ever). Soon after that, I was beating him more often than not, and one day my dad told me, that he had no more chess moves to taugh me, bought me a chess book and we never played again. Next time I see him, I am going to challenge him to a chess match, let’s see what happens :) Now that I think about it, I have not played chess in many years. I was supposed to go this Easter Break to Spain for 10-12 days but since he is coming, I will wait for the summer to go. Wine tasting... what can I say, I am from Spain, like most Southern European countries, there is not a great meal without a bottle (or bottles) of wine. Let me know what kind of wine you really like, maybe I can introduce you to some of my favorites :) I do not like to play games, and need someone honest. I've been pretty fortunate to experience a wide variety of national and international travel, but do you feel like me that every place you visit exposes you to two more new adventure opportunities? I feel fortunate to have experienced a wide range of attitudes and altitudes. Because of all the friends I've met, I'm better for having done so.
Worked biz out of college, experienced the complete opposite end of the spectrum working K-12 Special Education for a stint, and now I'm back working in the business world for a renewable energy company. Great story in it, I'll tell you sometime. Since I travel often for work, I'll try to mix in some time to see the town or attend an event. So many great spots to visit! When I Am home, I relish those opportunities when I can be active or relax with some engaging company.
