I've learned a lot about myself since I joined Match, I have been out of the dating scene for some time and just recently started doing me...I try and workout on a daily basis either at the gym, taking a class, doing weights or crossfit, or going on a hike or just a leisurly walk with a friend. 1. I have been fighting against doing the online dating thing. A lot. But actually, it's been much more pleasant than I expected (mostly).
2. I'm a relatively new attorney with creative pros for clients so I rarely wear suits (also because I can't find a great Kathryn Hepburn-esque suit). However, I know how to dress up and down.
3. I love obnoxiously high and inappropriate shoes; I'm actually sort of known for them, but they do put me at or over 6'.
4. I have lots of guy friends, just friends, so if you get jealous easily I'm not a good choice.
5. I'm a city girl--I love nature (especially the beach) and don't mind getting dirty, but I adore working plumbing and real beds and floors that keep creeping things out. IOW, not a camping type girl.
6. I can't resist a great set up and will say completely inappropriate things if it's a great joke. I love to make people laugh, often at my own expense. I do know when not to do that, though. And never cruel humor!
7. Although I'm very modern and capable, I love it when a guy opens doors (including car doors) and picks up the tab (if he asks me out)... and makes the first move here with an email (winking is kind of wimpy).
8. Gifts/flowers for no reason are much better than for Valentine's Day or the like and I give too. (Shasta daisies or yellow roses over red, TYVM)
9. I refuse to do botox, or Republican/Tea Partiers. On the other hand, "old hippies" are a big turn-off too.
10. It's not really driving if it's an automatic.
11. AL is fake baseball.
12. Physical perfection is over-rated; a good sense of humor and wit mean a lot more (but there has to be some physical attraction).
13. Real love is miraculous and occasionally a PITA, but totally worth it. I want to be swept away.
14. If you want a mommy to do your laundry, etc., please skip me; I like men who take care of themselves just as I expect they will want me to be able to take care of myself.
15. I'm smart; a great partner for trivia games. Smart men are sexy (esp. ones who speak more than 1 language). Guys intimidated by smart women need not apply. ;-)
16. If you in any way stylistically resemble a cast member from Anchorman, I won't find you attractive.

21. Don't BS me; I can (and often do!) totally respect a different opinion but can't abide a liar, even well intended. The truth won't kill me--I'm a grown-up. Relatedly, declarative sentences work best ("I like/don't like...)--don't make me have to get out the secret-decoder ring.
22. I love words and want to get a real love letter some day--hand written and passionate.

24. I'm disgustingly capable and strong as well as Midwestern, so I can be a bit outwardly stoic, but really I'm a big romantic even if I say "Oh no, you don't have to bother" more than I should. Go ahead--bother. :-) I have a very soft, open, and giving nature under the stoicism.

Okay, on a more serious note, I would like to say that I'm not the type of person that takes a relationship or the person I'm with for granted. I have no tolerance for games or ill hearted people. I'm well grounded and straight forward about my thoughts and feelings. Life has it's ups and downs, but I'm happy with myself and have a positive attitude about life in general. I believe two people should share some common interests, but also be willing to accept each other's differences. Basically respect each other as individuals. I love to laugh and can usually find humor in most things...including myself. I'm looking for a happy person, that's caring, giving and wants to enjoy life with me.
