I consider myself a down to earth, good guy. I still have a little Bart Simpson in me; but not in a bad way--anymore. Actually, I think Bart was loosely based on my teenage and college life. Like when I lived in the dorms and I put mice on the girls' 2nd floor (This was my Sgt. Pepper); or the time I made Ex-Lax brownies (Is it wrong that I'm proud of this?). But there is still no proof that I dropped an M-80 in the apartment complex pool filter--No Proof!. Anyway, because of all the stuff I did (or was accused of doing), I earned the nickname "Lex" in college. But, like I told the judge, having a mischievous trait keeps things exciting, right? Also, my friends would describe me as having a great sense of humor, honest, loyal, generous, a good listener and a person to go to for advise.
A couple of highlights in my life: In the 4th grade I invented the saying "No Duh". Supposedly, Homer Simpson's "Doh!" is derived from my "No Duh". And one Summer, I had a college internship with Pablo Escobar as a "Drug Mule". That Summer with Pablo was invaluable; I learned a lot of life lessons from him. Like how to dodge the DEA in a speedboat; how to launder money and to use offshore bank accounts; and how to carry up to three balloons in my stomach on a Bogota to Miami flight.
I like going out for a night on the town with friends; wine tasting (even if I can't tell one wine from another); going to sporting events; or going to dinner and a movie. But sometimes I like to stay home, have a pizza delivered and watch DVDs (love movies). I also like to travel, especially to tropical places like the Bahamas and Hawaii. And I really would like to go to Italy and Mexico (no, not as a "Drug Mule"; I'm now retired), soon.
Some other things I like: Watching College Football in October; drinking Rum Runners on a beach in the Bahamas; Lennon and McCartney; putting a "Men's Room" sign on a "Women's Room" door; Nelson Muntz saying "Ha! Ha!"; Robert Horry's 3-point shot to beat the Kings; Summer nights in Sacramento and San Francisco in the Fall; Junior Soprano's one-liners; winning at Russian Roulette (No Duh!); Eddie Vedder singing "Better Man" live; Richard and Sal's prank calls; an ice-cold Tecate with a lime; having a felony dropped to a misdemeanor; Steve Martin "Cat Juggling"; Vin Scully announcing a Dodger game; "New Rules" on Real Time with Bill Maher; hiding my grandmother's dentures; Golden Retrievers; and reading the Sunday newspaper in bed with my girlfriend.
Now, if you don't think I have a serious side, I do. First, I'm on the board of directors of a local charity that helps provide after school arts programs for students grade 4th through 8th. And I donate my time to Wardrobe For Opportunity in Oakland. They help people dress and prepare for a job interview.
As for the type of woman I'm seeking, it's important that she be intelligent, independent, have a great disposition and loves to laugh. Who is not afraid to be open and come to me for support or advise. And, when I spoil her, she is appreciative. It is also important that she likes to travel. Maybe we'll go to Italy, First Class! Or, at least, I'll go First Class (Don't worry, I'll visit you in Coach).
Obviously, I want a relationship where there is romance, but it is also just as important that we are best friends. I think you need both for a good long-term relationship. And, lastly, there must be chemistry (No Duh).
