Have been separated for a long time, divorce pending, but way over the drama and stuff. I am simply looking for a companion and confidant. Someone who will share her day with me, good, bad or unusual, and allow me to do the same. I love to snorkle in the Yucatan, play golf sometimes, and just hang out with someone who can carry on a conversation, intelligent or ridiculous, has an inquisitive mind, and has a sense of humor (no matter how offbeat) . I love to cook Italian, bake bread when the mood strikes, and am a fair breakfast chef. I need someone who challenges my assumptions, wants a long term friendship and a home. Built in family is OK. I have raised three great children who all live on their own in different parts of the country, are good people, fun to hang out with, and quite successful. None are at at home now, except for the holidays and ocassional visits. They all support me (and pushed me to get on this thing). I have a beautiful grandaughter, 3 years old, who I don't get to see often enough due to distance. I will post pics.

I am very handy with any type of electrical, woodworking, home remodeling issue. I worked in several unusual law enforcement positions over 15 years before going into senior care or the last 15 or so, so I can handle most situations, and have some interessting stories as well. I prefer debate (talk) over any other form of conflict resolution. I have never been to any type of counseling or therapy, other than physical therapy due to a bike wreck years ago....not that I disagree with the concept....

Truth in advertising here. I have always been very active and love to be outdoors. A recent injury to my left shoulder has seriously curtailed much of what I like to do until I get it 'fixed', which means surgery, being scheduled at Stanford, and then rehab before I can fully swing a golf club again (I can still chip and putt...), or before I can swim well enough to snorkel, which I love. As a result, my career of the last 15 years as an operator and Senior Executive in Senior Care and Alzheimer's/Dementia Care Senior Management is also on hold. I am actually thinking about changing fields, but not certain what. This shoulder thing has slowed me down enough to realize that the lack of a relationship with a true friend and confidant is what has been missing in my life for a couple years now. So here I am.....apprehensive about this whole process, haven't dated in decades...but always up for a new life adventure.

I adore my children, and Love being their Dad. They have a good Mom, so they don't need a "number one" mom. That position is filled. What we would all love would be for Dad to have a special someone. She will be very special in All of our lives! A woman who loves kids! Ultimately? A cool stepmom. Honestly, if you are unsure about the whole "kids thing," we are probably better off not getting to like one another. I will add that my kids are now at the age where they want to hang out with friends more than me (yes, that does make me a little sad...!) and I have much more free time the week ends I have them full time.
I am a good man. My intent is almost always positive, and I am working on the times when it is not. I seek a general state of goodness... very honest about my feelings and wants, make reasonably good money and have taken the leap to true financial security by "going independent" in my industry and opening my own shop. Short term increase in risk for long term gain. Probablity of achieving goal: high. Amount of work? Doubled, for now. Will pay off later.I am in fairly good shape, although I carry a spare tire - which amazes me. I've let the idea of a "six pack" go, and will be happy with just a resonably flat belly. I am attractive and compare quite well to my peer group,I am not perfect by any means; Used to be a fitness fanatic and sort of outgrew the obsession with that. Same with martial arts; I will spend the second half of my life as a gentle man.
What is my downside? I can be moody and short at times. I like solitude to recharge my spirit occasionally. There are days when I have simply talked myself out at work, and do not feel like talking more. Sometimes I dont feel like speaking on the phone. I enjoy a serene home, especially after about nine pm.
Its OK to have an ideal of your partner in mind, as long as there is acceptance and compromise. Some of the womens "ideal match" qualities I have read have felt quite demanding - to the point of unrealistic. I suppose the same goes for the men (but I am not perusing their profiles!). I am far from perfect, yet am willing to love again, to commit, to work at a partnership. I will invest time in attempting to get to know you, exchange emails and phone calls, but please be consistant. You are either interested or not. Lukewarm does not work for me.Note: you are either into this enough to have a photo, or not. If you email or show interest in me without a photo I will ask for one. Once, OK? I want to see you. That's where it all starts. Additionally, if you only have pics that show your top half, I may very well ask to see a full length photo. Again, not to sound like a jerk, but I would prefer not to have "huge surprises!" I am glad to have new friends; romance is out if there is no physical spark. If you are heavy that does not mean you are not beautiful.

I am a self-confident individual and am told that I bring out the best in the people I am around. I am low maintenance, a very stable individual and carry little baggage.
