Date a man from Hidden Meadows, United States. I am primarily an academic, although I have an additional profession as an attorney. I like good conversation and quiet times at home, but I am also active, enjoying tennis, travel, working on my own cars and bikes, and going to concerts, lectures, and the like. I am an avid reader, devouring the newspaper most mornings, and am therefore ready to discuss the latest political outrage. But I also enjoy the classics, everything from Homer to Shakespeare through Camus. I was fortunate to have the opportunity as a grad student to teach in the Revelle Humanities program at UCSD, where we were tasked with learning the "great books" sequence and passing it on to our students. Does it get any better than this?: Paid to learn poetry, art, drama, history, literature, and philosophy.
Aesthetically, I can spend a day at a museum, (the Getty is a favorite), or attend a concert or play, especially if we go out for coffee and desert thereafter and share our impressions about the performance. Conversely, I still get choked up at the end of the Parent Trap or Sleepless in Seattle. I love the beauty of nature and took my son on numerous camping trips throughout the West. We even made a trek up the coast to Banff and Lake Louise, Canada in a VW camper van. A walk through a forest, quietly, hand in hand, is a romantic ideal.
Activitywise, I have been called a tennis fanatic. I've tried and liked whitewater rafting, ziplining, jet-skiing, and parasailing, but haven't returned to them. I am much more serious about the fact that this is the first century in which an ordinary guy can fulfill Icarus' dream, so I earned my pilot's license (before I turned 50.) It also makes for extended range weekend getaways. When I am in the tropics, I like to snorkel.
My ideal match would be well-educated, have a good sense of humor, be fun-loving, even adventurous. Someone who values companionship, not only for the fun times, but also for the way it lightens chores. Knowing how to be a friend and partner is of utmost importance. Good communication and honesty lead to trust, which forms the basis for commitment . This is a path I have traveled.
Meet a soulmate from United States. Hi. Thanks for stopping by. You have found a warm, passionate guy with a great sense of humor who enjoys going out and experiencing all of the life we have here in SD and knows that having someone to share it with makes all the difference. I like simple things like having coffee out, margs at sunset or sitting on the couch watching a movie. And if it can be dinner, dancing, comedy clubs, wine tasting, day trips up the coast etc, the list just goes on for having fun and experiencing life and each other. If you are up for any of these, or have some ideas and would enjoy some company, lets do it.
Me: I exercise 6 days a week and take TaeKwonDo. I work in Information Technology - yeah a computer guy. I like to travel (I really like it when I get there more) but Hawaii, Bahamas, Jamaica - almost any place with a warm ocean breeze is good. Vegas is still fun every couple of years - mostly for the shows and restaurants these days.
I would like to find a partner to share what could and should be the best part of our lives. But until I meet them (you?), I am hoping to go out, enjoy what is out there and see where it goes. Are you up for it?
Write me. Maybe we can share and have some fun together. If it grows than life just got better.
I wish us all good luck in our searches.
