Date a soulmate from Alaska, United States. Where to start or where to end... I'm pretty laid back and reserved until I get comfortable around someone - it doesn't take long for me to open up. Take me on a road trip and I spill my guts - my mother and sister love this.
I'm in the Army, and have been globetrotting for the just over sixteen years. So the race to retirement is almost over. I'm currently deployed but will return "soon" to my new (to me) home in Wasilla.
I'm a transplant to AK and still have a ways to go before I get settled in. I grew up in North FL and I'm learning that Mother nature for all her beauty can be an unforgiving teacher.
Some of my quirks that tend to stand out:
- I don't have the typical Army haircut nor do I advertise my work on any of my vehicles.
- Unless its really cold or the occasion calls for different attire I'm usually wearing shorts and sandals.
- I tend to over prepair for an outing, expecting the worst.
- I grew up up in the South and while I don't have the accent per se, I do use ya'll and address women I do not know as Ma'am (regardless of their age).
- I don't own a game console or apple product.

While I will always consider myself a country boy at heart (I still say "y'all" and "fixin") I've had the opportunity to live and travel all around the country and world. Now, I have begun the Alaska chapter in my life, which I am very excited about.
I love my job, and I'm very good at it, but it makes it tough to meet women I can date, and that's why I'm posted here. Plus, I kind of have a shy streak when it comes to meeting women. I'm not sure why... I am extremely confident about everything else I my life. Maybe I'm just in awe of y'all...
I have to be honest, I am only going to be in AK for a couple of years, and then I'll move to who knows where. Since I'm new here, I want to meet somebody who wants to see and do things in this beautiful land around us, though I'm not opposed to a quiet evening indoors. My ideal woman is (first and foremost) intelligent, funny, independent, and takes good care of herself (I'm a big believer that a focus on fitness makes all of the stress and drama in life much easier to deal with).

I have a lot of energy and work hard, but I also try to seize the opportunity to have some fun, relax, and enjoy things. Meet someone special from Alaska, United States. The hard part. Well, my friends would say that I am a very loyal and faithful person, who enjoys spending time hiking, biking, camping and exploring new areas and always willing to help out a friend, when I can.
I enjoy the outdoors. Love camping, hiking, biking, frisbee golf, and going for walks, even when its around zero.
I do like to travel and have been to Ireland and Spain in the last couple of years and generally do like to travel, either just our of town for the weekend or taking a week and going some place out of state.

Date a man from United States. I'm an artistically inclined, athletic adventurer. This past winter I taught myself how to xc ski poorly. I enjoyed it very much and plan on skiing a lot next winter. I like bicycles. Particularly ones meant for off road travel. Back in October I ended up upside down in Campbell Creek with my bike attached to me while riding home from work. Noone saw that one, but I'm sure they would have laughed if they had. I know I'm not the only one out there that finds humor in that sort of stuff. I have an irreverent, sarcastic sense of humor. I like to make fun of people, particularly myself. I'm respectful, calm, confident, humble, but sometimes I can also be stubborn and a little unintentionally selfish. I make an effort to correct those qualities when I can though. I like art, invention, finding solutions, building objects, challenging myself mentally and physically, falling, getting back up, learning, exploring the outdoors. I like to occasionally sleep in and watch movies. I prefer riding a bike to driving a car or truck. I crash my bike waaaay more than I crash my car or truck.
I'm looking for a long term relationship with an emotionally independent, self sufficient, confident person with a firm grasp of reality, a calm demeanor, and a desire to explore. I enjoy logical problem solving, and my decisions are more often than not based on logic and reason, not emotion. I work a lot during the summer. Until October, Saturdays are tentative for me, I might be working, I might not. Weeknights I typically have 3-4 free hours max between the time I get home from work and the time I go to bed. Sometimes it's only 1 or 2 hours. Taking weekdays off is definitely frowned upon. The plus side? For the most part, I have the winters off, it's really enjoyable work that keeps me in shape, and the pay facilitates my outdoors exploration.
