Meet someone special from United States. I'm divorced about 5 years now and ready to meet someone to be a friend to. I have learned a lot in my life and have become a better person for it, yet I still fall far from perfect but will always keep trying.... I like to have fun - dinning out (Sushi!) or cooking together at home, driving in the mountains, weekend get-a-ways, comedy, coffee/wine and conversation, staying home watching movies. I like to spend time with my family and I love my job. My 13 year old son lives with me full time and keeps me young, so you must love kids and be understand that there are times that I am a little tied down but most of the time I'm not. Meet a man from United States. At this time in my life I am looking for a friend, I am open to a LTR but friendship comes first. I'm shy at first but open up as I get to know someone. My friends would call me pretty laid back. I hate conflict in my life. I love going to historical places and try to feel what life had been like there. I crave adventure and seeing places I've never been before. I love to camp, hike, backpack, showshoe, and canoe. I love wilderness whether mountains, desert, or north woods. I've been to Ireland, England, Scotland, Spain, France, Italy, Russia, Australia, Canada, and Mexico. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Jamaica. For exercise I hike and snowshoe. I am looking for a companion that enjoys doing some of these things. Camping is a must for me. I am seeking some one that is easy to get along with, no drama, no games, not controlling, who likes the simple things in life. Although I had just about every material convience when my wife and I were togetheer, I do not want 'stuff' anymore. Just enough to live a decent life on. A simple life is a more spiritual life for me. My dream is to build a log cabin on a piece of mountain property to live in or use as a get away place. Although I have a masters degree I thoroughly enjoy physical labor: chopping wood, remodeling rooms, landscaping. I have a generous heart and try to do an anonymous good deed daily. I believe that the God of my understanding wants me and all people to be happy, to love each other and live life to the fullest. I believe I have a purpose in this life, although I'm not sure what it is (maybe it is to love one person deeply). I don't believe my life is to be lived just for my own pleasure and gratification, but for some higher purpose. Although I live in Fort Collins I would prefer to live in the country, preferably the mountains, but anywhere would do. I am loyal and faithful unless a person betrays my trust. I don't hold grudges, I forget these things quickly.

I have lived in Fort Collins for about 33 years but lived north of Denver mostly when younger. Can't really say I miss Denver most of the time but there are some things about the city that we don't get up north.
Yes I smoke daily, a habit picked up in the military years ago that I don't see changing. I'm used to not smoking when not appropriate or around others. Smoking did serve well to keep the mother-in-law at a distance.
