Date single man from California, United States. I'm a positive optimist looking for a likewise soul who can laugh at stressful situations. My career was technical (Systems Sales Engineer in Telecommunications and part time Air Force Reserve).
Someone else's opinion is always valued; even if I disagree (I'm moderately conservative). I'm as comfortable in my blue jeans as I am in my tuxedo. I do long walks, bike rides and an occasional jog around the block. Sometimes I go to the gym to work out the old muscles. In the winter I like to ski at least a couple of times.
I do not believe in traditional male/female roles. Cooking, cleaning house, laundry and dishes can be done my either partner. I have a sewing machine and know how to use it. I also do the maintenance on my house and my car. It's part of being self sufficient.
The ideal "she" would be very even tempered like me, optimistic, not freak out when things are not going well. I will always try to understand my partner’s dreams and needs for understanding and affection. Companionship is not a one way street. You take care of each other. Most important that she is capable of reaching out and do something for me, even if it's just mixing my martini. Let’s pamper each other. I love to hug and cuddle. Be prepared!
I realize that when two people get together with different backgrounds and life experiences, one must not make a big deal about the differences but focus on and nurture what you have in common.
A solid relationship is not served on a silver platter but the result of hard work and devotion to your partner. However, it should start with that “spark” though during the first meeting.
I intend to move to San Diego as soon as I sell my house. This may make a difference in the distance between you and me. I learned that a 90 minute car trip to meet that special one was well worth it!
