Date a soulmate from California, United States. I have 4 children. Three of them are over 24, and live on their own. I raise my 13 year old daughter myself. Very young at heart. I am a Dentist and a college professor. I work hard, but the hours are not bad. I love to laugh, and have fun. I like rap music and hanging with younger people, but am not a poser. I grew up in a large city, and love the frantic energy they possess. I have many acquaintances, but try to maintain only about 5 close friends. For me to consider you a true friend, I have to of known you for Years.
I am looking for a long term relationship. Someone who likes to have fun, get wild, but can reel it back in when necessary. I love intimacy, and special time alone. Would like to meet a like minded woman, who is her own person, but would like to share her future with a wild man, who seldom shows that side to anyone (because of work). I like to travel a great deal, and am funny, but also like to laugh a lot. I enjoy being around people, but also cherish quiet moments alone with a special person.
Meet a man from California, United States. Hello! You'll have to excuse the nose strip. . .
I'm looking for a woman who's as comfortable in jeans and a tee shirt (probably because that's about all I have in my wardrobe. Just kidding. I do have a shirts, a tie, and a jacket) as she is dressed up. She is honest and caring. She is sincere, funny, and loves to laugh, but she can also have a serious conversation.
I'm hopelessly romantic, and love to treat a woman like a lady. Flowers are foremost. I love to talk, and I love to listen. But I'm just as comfortable sitting in front of the fire, reading, watching old movies, and kissing. I love to kiss. And I'm not afraid to cry, and do so frequently. (Yes, in front of you. I cried my eyes out watching "Mirror Mirror" with Julia Roberts with my daughters.)
I'm physically fit, I’m 54, and I have my own business, which I love. I work out of my home and the job gives me the flexibility to work at 5 in the morning, and work out at 2. I love it. It's really a gift from God. It's lucrative. I really love my job. (In fact, I should get to work about now!)
I like to read and spend my evenings talking, cooking, eating, and I confess to liking old movies and hating TV. I like going out to dinner and I like hiking and cycling. I have 2 small daughters - 10 and 12 – they are the loves of my life; I have them 1/2 time,I "coparent" with the "ex." I have lots of room for the right woman. I don't drink (but don't mind if you do), do drugs, or anything like that.
I play guitar (rather badly), but I play just the same. I did play professionally when I was younger, but it's been a long, long time. Some Eric Clapton, Cat Stevens, Neil Young, Harry Chapin, CSNY, that sort of stuff. I love movies, the arts, parks, hiking, swimming, getting outdoors. Hell. . . I'll try anything once. I even like to dance. . .
I rent a little house in the woods that's very private, and am considered by what friends I have to be handsome, caring, sweet, passionate, and loving, for whatever that's worth . . . (and for what I pay them to say it). I don’t get out much because of my job and meet a whole lot of persons, thus my signing up on dating sites.
Some of the places I like are the clear waters of the Caribbean, the east coast, and the eastern ends of Maine, Massachusetts, and of course - Block Island. I took my daughters on a cruise when they got out of school, in the Caribbean; we stopped at Jamaica, Haiti, and Cozumel, Mexico. We had an absolute blast, and have memories that will last us a lifetime. It was an 8-day adventure aboard the largest vessel afloat. It was like the Titanic!
I enjoy dinners out, coffee conversations, long walks, hiking, and cycling. Musically, I like just about anything, but I'm partial to rock from the 60s and 70s. I love James Taylor, Mark Knopfler (Dire Straights), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), the Who (who?), Cream (and yes, Eric Clapton really is God), and Neil Young. I also like Tori Amos and Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Taylor Swift (a thank you to my girls for turning me on to here), Adele, and a host of C&W stars, past and present.
OH! my hair's a lot longer now, and I wear it in a pony tail most of the time, but I let it down sometimes, if you know what I mean. It's shoulder-length. I'll probably let it grow much longer.
Did I say I was a published author? Book, short fiction, poems -- but that was a long time ago before I had children.
I'm not looking for a one-night night stands: stay away from me if that's what you're looking for. Same goes for game players, control freaks (who think they can change me), and people who aren't divorced or still hoping to get together with their ex. I'm 54. Been there, done all that.
If you like what I've said, e-mail me back and I'll give you my personal e-mail and phone number. I hate "dating" by "e-mail" and would much prefer to talk to you.
Peace. Carl
