Date someone special from United States. Hi! I've been living in San Diego for a while now (over 7 yrs). I moved here from Sydney to work for a medical device company. I’m fairly hard working, ambitious and enjoy being challenged, but also try to have fun as much as possible. I consider myself a bit of a foodie, am verging on wine snob, race sailboats and go cycling in my spare time. Visiting new places and experiencing other cultures is also high up on my list. Family is important, but somewhat challenging given that they all live on the other side of the world... My ideal match is smart, motivated and enjoys life!

I believe in living life to the fullest. I love to live a healthy, active lifestyle with every day exercise, running, walking, hiking, etc. I think I am very well rounded. I have owned my own consulting business full time for 10 years and am proud that I am still in business and doing well! LOL 8-) At the same time, there is so much more to life than work!! I am always looking for new things to try, new skills to master, and places to visit. I don't do things to impress people. I do them, because I truly enjoy them and they are fun. I am truly looking for someone special to spend my life with. However, I do have a lot of fun just dating and getting to know people on the journey towards the right person. I LOVE TO BE FUNNY, JOKE A LOT, AND ENJOY HUMOR AS I AM OFTEN MORE LIGHT HEARTED THAN SERIOUS, BUT I realize that there is a time and place for serious things as well.
I feel truly blessed for all that I have. Living in the beautiful climate of Southern California is a dream come true. I often enjoy being a tourist in my own city!
As a little background, I grew up in the Northeast outside of Philadelphia. I received my 4 year degree with a double major in Economics and Political Science. I worked in PA, Washington DC and NYC before moving out to San Diego over 10 years ago. I have a diverse taste in music and listen to nearly anything (typically plugging someone else's iPod into my car adapter). On my own, I typically listen to XM Radio 20s on 20 (current top 40-100 music).
Countries Visited So Far: Canada, Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, Various Islands in the Caribbean, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, England, France, Monaco, Italy, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, and Switzerland.
I LOVE animals, but currently do not own any. Maybe in the future! I HAVE NEVER BEEN MARRIED AND NO KIDS. I would be willing to consider having kids in the future with the right person, but IF YOU ALREADY HAVE CHILDREN, I don't think we will be a fit.
FIRST DATE IDEAS:
I think OPTION ONE for a first date could be a quick (30-60 minute) meet-up for a coffee/tea or drink somewhere nice. It can be during the evening, afternoon, or even morning. If there is chemistry (physical, intellectual, etc.), the date might last longer depending on each person's schedule. If things are right, the second date I think is where you would then do something much more traditional or for a larger part of an evening. The first date meet-up would be low pressure, fairly quick and just a means to see if you want a real date with each other. This type of first date resonates with a lot of people.
OPTION TWO: ANYTHING OR ANYWHERE THAT YOU WANT! LOL 8-) Every girl is different and I am totally up for dinner or anything fun wherever you want or a place I pick. Because let's face it, if I like you enough to want to go out on a date with you, I am more than willing to do this!
