Date a soulmate from United States. Hi everybody! I want to find somebody to do fun activities with, care for, connect with, laugh, relax with, and grow old with, ideally. I will want to make you laugh. I am going to skip the part of this where I try to describe my personality. I figure you can get a sense of me with reading my profile and looking at the pictures. I am not only this way or that way and beyond that meeting up to see if our personalities compliment each other is the best :)
I am a teacher, which I gain a lot of fulfillment from, have fun with ( most of the time), and feel very at home with.
I have traveled a fair amount. The last place I went was Thailand nearly 3 years ago. My favorite trip was Brazil. I am on a bit of a break from traveling right now, but I would like to continue at some point. I enjoy camping, as well. I take a lot from being outdoors and away from the busy, but very good life for a few moments.
As much as I like adventure now and again, I do love being home! I like the 'stuff' I do like working on my 100 yr old house, hanging out with good friends, aerial silk tissue! :) (like in cirque), getting coffee, rock climbing occasionally with a buddy (yes,in the gym these days), etc... I am a little bit of an artist (just fun for me). I also like to be at least mildly aware of the world around me. I am not into huge debates/discussions with friends about politics, though. Going out to dinner and a drink at a fun restaurant with character and aesthetics is great.
I would like someone who smiles a fair amount. This just means I like someone who likes little jokes, tries to make us laugh, makes me feel like they are having a nice time, and you are not the stoic kind a guy (not that there is anything wrong with that). It doesn't mean you can't complain about a day or be sarcastic or just be when the time calls for that, obviously. Life is a lot to handle and I like to know about your stuff, just like you would listen to my day and chit chat. I also want a man to be generally confident, respect the environment, has or is working towards a job they like, among other good qualities that will be found over coffee or a drink. If you are a road biker, I would be able to join you sometimes since I used to do that to a certain extent not too long ago. Right now my bike helps my car get a break from small trips around town.
If you think we might get along, please EMAIL me. I generally don't respond to winks. I promise to do the same :)

Meet someone special from Oakland, United States. “Life shall be equal parts of responsibility and equal parts of fun.” Yes, I borrowed it from a car commercial. Yet, it truly reflects my perspective of and approach to life.
IРІР‚в„ўd like to meet with someone who echoes the same perspective and approach.

Date a woman from Oakland, United States. I’m an East German who ended up in California as a teen “by accident” because I didn’t fully complete an application form. When I woke up, I made the best of it and turned myself from a nanny into a genetics PhD. If there’s a trait that helped me pull it off, it’s a free and resilient spirit who dares to take a leap with her entire heart.
IРІР‚в„ўve slept on rooftops next to Jordanian Bedouins, almost got sea-sick on Burmese trains, crossed the Arctic Circle (twice) to hike the tundra, walked across Spain carrying just a daypack. If you like being active youРІР‚в„ўve come to the right profile. Physical activity and nature are like oxygen to me. Every week I play some tennis, swim, kiteboard, road bike (IРІР‚в„ўm training for a century).
So what's in this for you? I can whip up an adventure almost instantly, even for two. Should we find ourselves camping in the desert, IРІР‚в„ўll impress you with the finest backcountry dinner youРІР‚в„ўll have ever had. IРІР‚в„ўll give you a tour on skis of sleepy Slavic villages in the midst of Germany. And if you fancy the harder bike route, IРІР‚в„ўll sweat it out with you. Our legs will thank us when weРІР‚в„ўre 80.
On a Saturday night out you might not guess that I spent a day in seawater. I have a slight weakness for dresses. The sensuality of slipping into even a simple one never gets old. I enjoy finer things in life – concerts, modern galleries, wine with a delicious dinner or just as is… I’m pretty sure I’d try your passions too. As a European I have no clue about American sports, but I’ll watch a game with you if it matters. Maybe you’d learn a few phrases in German just to say hello to my family?
IРІР‚в„ўve inherited a bit of an artistic streak. Once upon a time I taught children how to draw, and I helped weld a fire-spewing sculpture. Now my camera is never far behind. After a certain while of knowing me, your walls might sport some of the most beautiful travel photographs money cannot buy. As for bed-time reading, my most treasured books are true stories of ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances; their journeys often really touch me. My friends love my gift for travel writing; they say it touches them. Maybe one day you as well?
I am affectionate, caring, soft. I prefer pillow talk over intense debates with you. I have my opinions (and certainly wonРІР‚в„ўt hold them secret). Being challenged by my partner means feeling inspired to do my best, not competing with him. I am loyal, and I know how to listen and support, or give you space when you need it. IРІР‚в„ўve been told men arenРІР‚в„ўt supposed to need anyone. But in case you ever do, I want to be the first one you rely on.
I never turned into a “proper” scientist, but thankfully I still get to work on amazing projects that would have been considered Sci-Fi when I was a kid. As important as a rewarding and interesting career is to me, I am working on freeing up more time to be more generous with it to loved ones. In the short term I may ask for a little understanding, but in the long term you will have someone who knows and lives by her priorities.
When I think of you, I think of a man who’s faced a few character building challenges himself. You’re educated, thoughtful, have got a sense of humor and adventure, love being up-close to nature, and keep up a healthy lifestyle. You’re ready to do the next big thing in life – building a relationship you’re proud to be a part of, and eventually starting ( raising) a family. And you know what it is to love.
Why donРІР‚в„ўt you dare to take a leap and write?

Meet people from Oakland, United States. I am fun to be around I like to do spontaneous things at times. I want someone who is outgoing and fun. Easy to talk to and likes to laugh. Who likes to talk and listen. Will keep s smile on my face. I like to cuddle and be romantic. I like to go for drives and listen to music.

Date men and women from Oakland, United States. A renaissance woman- but younger.
I am intellectual, according to my guy friends- cute , successful at my job, kind, emotionally healthy, affectionate and with a creative knack. I love walking in nature, yoga and swimming. I am more adventurous than active. I speak 5 languages, including a dying one.
My proverbial type is an intellectual/ artsy/literary guy who is not a starving artist. I absolutely love guys with glasses. In short- nerds.
YouРІР‚в„ўre my guy if youРІР‚в„ўre both responsible and goofy, spiritual, but not religious- letРІР‚в„ўs figure it out together. You are serious about creating a connection. You're ready to stop drilling when you hit gold. You have baggage but itРІР‚в„ўs mostly neatly folded. You are laid back and are not worried too much about living life to the fullest. You want to cross-pollinate knowledge and experiences- you want to teach me things I donРІР‚в„ўt know, be it history, politics, paleontology or kite flying. You think Scrabble by candlelight with a glass of wine is a great date. You would go clean the Berkeley Marina with me on Coastal Cleanup Day even if both of our places were a mess. You are very affectionate- you hold my hand when weРІР‚в„ўre walking together, you want to talk to me before bedtime, you give me bear hugs, and when emotionally moved, you pick me up off the ground- (thatРІР‚в„ўs not hard, IРІР‚в„ўm 5РІР‚в„ў2).
I have a serious job in the healthcare field by day and by night I am writing a Victorian romance novel. It involves a lot of historic research e.g, what is the average speed of a carriage or when was the water closet invented. IРІР‚в„ўm not aiming for Hemingway, just to thoroughly entertain and give my readers quivers. (ItРІР‚в„ўs a bit steamy, but that was the age of steam after all...) It will be a best seller for sure/maybe. The next BBC Masterpiece Classic. Look for it at an airport book stand near you. A girl can dream right?
Despite that, I am a romance realist. I don’t expect you to sweep me up on horseback wearing an open white shirt and riding breeches, (though that could be nice…) but no worries, if you are my guy, you will always be the handsomest man in the world to me.
P.S. My perfect first date includs fish- Surprise me!

Meet a soulmate from Oakland, United States. A little about me: A Central Valley transplant. I am an eclectic blend of Latin spices. I love animals, the feeling of the warm sun on my face, and the gentle sound of rolling waves during low tide. In a mate, I'm looking for a good communicator with strong arms who is kind, honest, hilarious, romantic, thoughtful, considerate, affectionate, and grounded with common sense. Is this too much to ask for? I like what I like. *wink

Date someone special from Arkansas, United States. Preschool teacher M-F and roller derby on the weekends. I been single for couple of years and have spend those years finding a balance and mingling all the things I like to do in a day.
I'm mostly interested in meeting someone that will challenge me.

Meet a woman from Arkansas, United States. I'm fun to be around. For real, I'll make you laugh. And if you can return fire and keep me on my feet, we'll get along great. I like passionate, intellectually curious people who crack me up.
I've truly arrived at a great place in my life. (Not that I've ever been unhappy, really.) I'm an Oakland native, who recently returned to the Bay from a few years in LA. I believe that there are some pretty amazing things about this city. I own a great home here, I've set it up to be just as comfortable for dinner parties and cocktail hours as it is for hanging out on a Sunday morning.
You can bring me anywhere. I make conversation well, I'm comfortable with diverse groups of people and someone recently told me that I'm good at bringing everyone together. I throw big dinner parties, I build and redevelop communities for a living, and I tend to have people in my life for decades.
Other things to note: I am very close to my loud, large family. I skim the New York Times every morning, but I'm not above watching TMZ at night. I believe that elections matter. I was once a competitive gymnast and I start to freak out if I don't exercise every day. And with all due respect to your mom's cooking skills, I will make you a pretty fantastic pot of chicken soup when you're sick.
Thankyoubye.
