With middle age (and divorce) I've learned there are things that I absolutely require in my life: living with an open heart, giving gratitude for what I have at this very moment, and loyal friendships. Mindfulness aside, I would likely suffer if I didn't have regular access to a lap pool, raw oysters, and heirloom tomatoes. I am a die-hard foodie, and have been known to spend hours ambling through local farmer's markets devising a menu in my head, or a whole day driving to and from Napa just for fried chicken. Yum.
By day, I teach Spanish to school age kids and make sure my own kids eat all their vegetables. In my off time, I may indulge my love for history by hunting for either mid-century modern or rustic farm furniture; or pretend to be a female Chris Martin in my living room; read non-fiction; or do nothing (which is actually something). Socially, I'm just as happy sitting at a bar and chatting up the stranger beside me, as I am with my crowd of friends, sharing stories and laughing out loud over pitchers. For me, laughing = bliss.
While there are numerous interests and activities that bring me joy, nothing compares to the happiness I feel in raising my three awesome kids, who are becoming self-aware, non-conformist, well-informed citizens of the world, by way of their own curiosity. We laugh a great deal because life is really good!

I love golfing, hiking, biking, exercising, sailing, traveling, jazz, gourmet food... I like to stay outdoor to enjoy what the Bay Area can offer. When I stay indoor, I like to cook, meditate and read. And I am a great cook and my family and friends love the food I cook. My reading interests range from cult classics like Ayn Rand, PG Wodehouse, New age/spiritual writings and some old english classics...
& magazines like Economist, Harvard business review etc.
