Meet someone special from Arkansas, United States. I am a writer. I recently self-published a poetry book, am working on a second, and I'm writing a novel. I own a small home in Kirby AR, and another in Phoenix. I love them both and go back and forth quite a bit. My parents live near me in AR and I enjoy spending every moment I can with them. My son lives with me in Phoenix. He will finish school Sep 2012 and will move on for an internship.

I was born in northern CA, raised in the White Mountains of AZ, and have lived in numerous places around the country. I served 12 years in the US Coast Guard, 15 as a pastor, and taught high school English in Casa Grande AZ for 3 yrs before a home construction accident put me out of business for a while. I ended up retiring on 2/3 disability. I get along well, just have to be careful.
I was a pastor for many years until my divorce 10 years ago. I had some bad experiences through that time and have some scars because of them. I still have faith in God but am not active in a church at this time. I really don't know what "Spiritual but not Religious" is, unless it means that a person has faith but is not active in institutional religion. I guess that is me right now.
I have been married twice- once for 28 years and once for 10 months. Both have stories, of course. In the first case, we found we were not in love with each other, and in the second, we found we were much better friends than lovers. Both divorces were amicable and I have good relationships with both.
I do look forward to having someone to share my life with. I am committed, monogamous, loyal, loving, sharing, honest, and steady. I find that chemistry shows itself early and is absolutely necessary in a relationship. I am looking for a woman who has a kind heart, who is committed to family and friends, who is adventurous, but loves home as well, independent, but not so much that she doesn't need her man around. I am attracted to a woman who enjoys being female, and like it when I hear her described as being sweet.
