It is a cathartic expression of what is what like to grow up in a midwestern city of around 100,000 people with an Italian mom and a Jewish dad. Half of my cousins were Catholic and the other half were Jewish.
My identity as a child was somewhat conflicted and the book takes one through the joys and the difficulties I experienced being part of a minority group since I was raised Jewish.
As an adult, I am very proud of my heritages and feel I am a person who is very confident in many different settings and with diversity.
